R&D Lead

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of each project
• Negotiate terms in contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
• Research, develop, design, evaluate, lead, and organise installation of mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements
• Determine needed resources (manpower and equipment) from start to finish with attention to budget limitations
• Plan all mechanical engineering duties and operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
• Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
• Supervise the work of labourers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports and other tasks as assigned by a line manager
• Ensure that systems are defined according to targets and requirements
• Ensure that Infrastructure Timeplan is up to date and on track
• Ensure installation and maintenance work is on schedule and properly done
• Ensure all partners & suppliers are engaged and onboard

AUTHORITIES:

Decision-making authorities

• Review and approve objective mechanical system/equipment changes according to targets and requirements of Infrastructure and other departments

Managerial authorities

• Manage workshops with architects, management, and potential partners
• Responsibility for Infrastructure Timeplan update and achievement in mechanical system/equipment deployment

YOUR SKILLS AND COMPETENCES:

• 6+ years of experience
• Proven experience as Mechanical Engineer in area of various auxiliary systems, mechanical functioning equipment, electrical equipment maintenance, or relevant areas
• Self-organising person with structured working ethics
• Understanding of project management principles
• Understanding of modularity and flexibility in construction is advantage
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
• Good knowledge of MS Office and CAD
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• A team player with leadership abilities
• MSc in mechanical or electrical engineering or relevant field ( PhD would be a plus )
• English is official company language, know-how of German is preferred
