Junior Cloud Platform Engineer

Our client is a FULL IT service and solution provider for medium-sized companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Automate Installation and configuration of the application stack adhering to cloud architecture and security best practices
• Deploy dynamically scalable, available, fault-tolerant, and reliable applications onto public cloud platforms
• Actively contribute to the process of continual improvement, with regards to individual, team and systems.
• Technical Evangelism: Evaluate new tools, technologies and proof of concepts related to Cloud technologies/solutions
• Develop and support business stakeholders and users with required IT solutions and services–related to IT cloud services–in time and in budget with satisfactory service quality.
• Fulfil delivery and operational obligations in line with a “Cloud Target Operation Model (CTOM)” as a framework for the use of all cloud based (IT) services across ANDIE group.
• Create and maintain technical documentation relating to IT cloud services, contributing to a knowledge base that can be shared by all technical teams
• Work with other technical teams to drive Cloud adoption, ensuring that all new implementations and operational changes are carried out in line with ANDIE cloud strategy and objectives
• Establish and analyse metrics to ensure resources are appropriately utilized and processes are effective and efficient
• Collaborate with architects, network engineers, project managers, applications and infrastructure teams to plan and implement cloud services
• Create and maintain appropriate processes and procedures to accurately describe the work undertaken by IT cloud services
• Provide 24/7 L2 and L3 support for IT cloud service technologies and applications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Solid Experience and understanding of AWS core services, security and architecture – e.g. EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, CloudFront, Lambda, R53
• Continuous integration/delivery (specifically Jenkins, Rundeck)
• Strong development skills for providing automation. Need to be proficient in one or more automation technologies (i.e. Ansible, Cloud Formation, Puppet, Terraform, Packer, Vagrant]
• Experience with container systems (Docker) and container orchestration
• Recent Linux system administration experience (CentOS)
• Working in an ITIL / ISO27001 environment
• Experience of building and maintaining relationships between IT and other business areas
• Experience of working with third party providers
• Comfortable adapting to change and learning quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of business continuity, high availability (RTO/RPO)
• Strong communication skills and be able to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
• Operations: Understanding of ITIL, DevOps, Kanban, Agile principles
• Strong experience of performing Operational activities in a 24×7 environment
• Programming/scripting languages: Linux/Unix shell, python/jython
• Skills in API usage, command line interface and SDKs for writing applications
• Testing, setup and configuration of monitoring/alerting tooling (DataDog, CloudWatch, ELK etc.)
