Head of Development

REQUIREMENTS:

• The ideal candidate for this role has experience in leading a team of engineers for development of mobile application for iOS and Android devices
• 5+ years management experience in software engineering
• Proficiency in English and exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of engineers
• Ability to review designs and code, provide actionable feedback, and the detail orientation to follow-up on all technical topics
• Consistent upward and downstream communication
• Resourceful, innovative, self-motivated, confident in high stress situations
• Ability to think strategically and consistently meet or exceed deadlines on programming projects
• At least 3 years of recent experience with development projects for mobile applications for iOS and Android is required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leading iOS and Android developers and having an oversight of the individual applications
• Drive development to planned timeline, ensuring early and regular communication through all stages of development
• Promote best practice development habits and highest product quality standards through regular code reviews and open team communication
• Create learning opportunities within the development team through training, conferences, hands-on training and mentorship in projects
• Build and maintain technical skills in iOS/Android staying current with recent and upcoming changes to core technologies
• Manage and oversee direct reports
• Ability to hire, mentor and manage performance of team members
• Experience in main development methodologies is a must and QA experience is desirable
