Our client has long been a pioneer in agile software development, delivering tailored digital solutions that help companies navigate the complex challenges of digital transformation. With a strong emphasis on lean processes, open-source frameworks, and cloud services, they drive innovation, reduce risk, and create lasting business value.
Working in cross-functional product teams, our client collaborates closely with customers, partners, and affiliated companies within the group. They take a leading role in applying methodologies and technologies such as Lean and Agile, Big Data, User Experience Research, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery.
Our client values early-stage involvement in projects, where small, motivated, and interdisciplinary teams can make the biggest impact. With flat hierarchies and minimal overhead, they avoid excessive layers of management to keep workflows efficient, decisions fast, and customer needs at the forefront. The focus is simple: build great products, and let them thrive in the market.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Project in a nutshell: Modern cars have between 6 000 000 to 10 000 000 lines of code built into their various controllers. From brakes via engine and suspension to steering wheel, all those modules process some inputs, and give outputs to other modules in order to make our driving safer, easier and more comfortable. Each hardware module is also represented as a software model so that it can be tested using matlab and simulink. For us, those models are black boxes. Simulation Architects test models provided by component suppliers by connecting them with existing models from other suppliers, in order to check whether they integrate appropriately. The lifecycle involves a component model code update leading to integration and simulation with other component models, then testing those in a virtual environment and finally, testing on real hardware prototypes. This usually lasts more than 6 months and is not automated at all. Furthermore it requires certain specialised knowledge which goes out of the domain of Simulation Architects.
The project goal is to automate the above described processes and procedures so that knowledge about pipeline generation and execution is built in a pipeline itself. Additionally we need to shorten the time between the release of the new hardware component model and final co-simulation execution where the entire integrated system is tested on a virtual car, and later on a prototype car. This also saves on the cost of release of new car models because virtual co-simulation should have high test coverage. Later, when real life tests are executed the client should be able to easily write off basic model testing and focus more on implementation in real life circumstances. It is obvious that it would be really expensive to test each component by first producing a prototype and then later realising some basic flaws in the prototype design.
This project is interesting because the client is trying to achieve “almost impossible”. If you are interested in this kind of tech we would like to have you onboard. We need inquiring minds who are going to ask a lot of questions because this project is opening new realms and new problems as it moves forward and evolves.
